Review Ta Xua tour – Hunting for clouds with PYS Travel company

The best time for hunting clouds is from November to the end of March, so I decided to go to Ta Xua on Tet holiday (Vietnamese New Year). This is my review when going to Ta Xua with PYS Travel tour.

Accomodation:

At first, I think accomodation on the mountain is very low, but I stayed on the very nice hotel, extremely clean (which is beyond my expectation). That was a new hotel, Sao Mai Hotel had just opened for 2 months. It has a lift (WOW! Amazing)

Room facilities: hair-dryer, kettle , air-conditional, Tivi LCD, fire alarm. ^0^ WOW

If I had known that there was Bac Yen province is so developed, I would have not choose to go on a tour T____T (I should came by public coach).

There is a homestay in Ta Xưa village (about 1.5-2 hours away from Bắc Yên province). Many bikers stay there overnight and start hunting clouds as soon as the sun rises.

Each meals on the tour costs 90.000VND/person/meal (include in the package). Personally, I think all meals were very good and cheap. Foods on the meal were mostly chicken, pork and beef (I guess it was buffalo, not beef ^”^).

My first meal: stir fry beef, half chicken, fried pork ribs, fried tofu in tomato sauce, boiled chayote, soup (5 people per desk)

Transportation:

Our tour went on a 30 seat car. That car looked very good but it was the only minus point on this trip. It tooks 5-6 hours from Hanoi city centre to Bac Yen province (we started at 6AM and arrived at 11AM). In 2 days, we spent most the time on the car. Therefore, if the car is not comfortable, you will have a very bad trip. And this is my detail description about my transportation:

1. Seats were too small (i’m vietnamese native, it could be even smaller for Westerners), seats were covered by flat & slippery leather.
2. Some seat was not able to lower the seat’s back to sleep. If you sit at the back of the car, it is impossible to lower the seat back for sure.
3. There were seat belts but it was stuck under the seat, we tried very hard but we couldn’t pull it up. >”<

==> I had never aware of the importance of fasten seat belt on cars until I sat on that cars.

Way to Ta Xua has many bends and very rough. However, even if you go on the flat and straight road in that terrible car, you will still feel the same. Maybe that was due to driving skills. Anyway, because we don’t have seat belts so we:

• Fly to the right (pump head to the window car) T___T
• Fly to the left (fall to the floor) T^T
• Fly up (feel amazing like playing in Disneyland) ^0^

“Sleeping on this car need to be very skillful, and i think all of us has become Masters!!!”

Itinerary & Scenery:

Day 1:

After lunch, check in hotel in Bac Yen province for 1 hour then start to Ta Xua village of H-mong minority for seeing sunset

Fantasy selfie Rock at Ta Xua-Vietnam

Right after you see Ta Xua village, you will see a fantasy selfie rock. Climbing on this rock is quite dangerous. This rock is about 10 meters away from the main road, you need to climb down to the rock. Standing on this rock is as challenging as standing in the middle of the railway on Long Bien bridge. Yet, it is quite worthy.

From the selfie rock, keep going and we came to the place for hunting cloud at sunset & sunrise. Some bikers sleep on their tents overnight here for hunting clouds from sunrise.

Day 2:

5Am: check out hotel, eat sticky rice and go to Ta Xua again for hunting clouds. As I know, clouds is the best in the morning.

Cá nhân mình thấy trên đường đi cũng có những chỗ có mây, chỉ cần mặt trời lên 1 tí là có thể nhìn rõ mây rồi. Nếu bạn đi xe máy, thì có thể dừng lại ở những chỗ đó, không nhất thiết phải lên tận làng Tà Xùa đâu. Nhưng mình đi xe oto 30 chỗ, nên chắc chỉ có mỗi lựa chọn là lên chỗ ngắm hoàng hôn hôm trước mới có thể đỗ oto.

Điều đáng tiếc nhất là chuyến này mình không săn được mây. Sương mù sáng sớm rất dày, lạnh thấu xương. Chờ đến 8h30 mà sương vẫn chưa có dấu hiệu tan, nên cả đoàn di chuyển tiếp lên “Háng Đồng” – chụp dãy núi xương sống khủng long.

Đây là 1 đoạn núi dài, bạn phải leo xuống ( rất dễ), leo lên (khá mệt/cực kì mệt/ thở như chó). Bạn có thể gửi xe ở bên trên rồi trecking xuống.

 

Hôm mình đi có 1 bạn phượt nhưng chắc không cứng tay lái lắm, đi xe máy trên sống khủng long và rồi ngã xuống dốc núi đấy. Mũ bảo hiểm vỡ nát, người thì “còn sống” (mình chỉ biết vậy thôi). Xe máy lăn xuống dốc là cái chắc rồi. Phải nhờ người Mông xuống cứu hộ. Sườn núi trông xanh rì cây cỏ thế nhưng nhiều đá nguy hiểm lắm. Các bạn nên cân nhắc nếu muốn đi xe máy xuống nhé.

Đoàn mình sau đó thống nhất trả thêm 50.000đ/người để đi chụp hoa cải & hoa mận ở Mộc Châu rồi mới về Hà Nội.

Sau khi ăn trưa xong xuất phát, phải 5h mới đến được chỗ chụp ảnh ở Mộc Châu. Về đến Hà Nội thì cũng 10h đêm rồi.

 

Tổng kết:

 

Dù hơi tiếc khi không săn được mây, nhưng đi là để trải nghiệm, để có kinh nghiệm cho những chuyến đi tới.

Xe cộ là điểm trừ của cả chuyến đi. Nhưng bù lại mình đã luyện được Kung Fu ngủ trên mọi chiếc xe, trên mọi địa hình.

Trừ xe cộ ra thì tour khá ổn, bác tài và tour guide đều rất nhiệt tình, Nikon hay Canon gì thì em tour guide đều chụp được hết.

Có lẽ trong tương lai, mình sẽ đi 1 tour nào đó nữa của PYS Travel và sẽ lại viết review tiếp.
